Mission

Our mission at Cross Mountain Capital is to help investors reach the peak of real estate investment by building long term wealth through passive investments in carefully vetted and underwritten multifamily properties. Cross Mountain Capital’s name evokes the metaphoric symbolism of crossing mountains to find and execute bespoke transactions that result in preservation of capital and accumulation of wealth. In addition, the name speaks to Cross Mountain’s penchant for markets that offer abundant outdoor and mountain activities, which anchor and promote the health and economy of these communities.

Our Team

Michael Gilman
Founder, Managing Principal 

Michael Gilman has over has over 10 years experience in acquiring and repositioning multifamily assets, and generating exceptional returns on capital. After successfully building his real estate portfolio approaching 100 units across the northeast (self managed through MSA Properties LLC), Michael decided to establish Cross Mountain Capital in order to scale with larger acquisitions by accepting investors and acting as the real estate sponsor for select multi-family opportunities. 

Prior to devoting himself full time to Cross Mountain Capital, Michael was Head of Legal and Portfolio Management at Easyknock, where he managed over $250+ million in residential properties and advised on legal matters related to the company and multi-state real estate business and legal issues.  

Michael currently is an Of Counsel to Portale Randazzo LLP, where he advises clients on real estate, corporate and securities matters. He started his legal career at investment banks such as Cantor Fitzgerald, Deutsche Bank and Bank of America.  He held the Series 7, 24 and 57 licenses while in the securities industry, and is also a licensed real estate broker.

When he isn't working, Michael is spending time with his family or pursuing one of his many hobbies related to the outdoors, including but not limited to skiing, trail running, mountaineering and obstacle course races. Michael is a strong supporter of environmental causes and a member of POW (Protect Our Winters). 

Michael holds a B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College and a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School.

Elijah Brown
Partner

Elijah Brown is a real estate investor and syndicator. Since 2017, Elijah has acquired a 70+ unit portfolio of residential properties across four states. Elijah currently assists in the management of over 2.3 million square feet (43 properties) of office buildings and over $4 billion of residential real estate as an associate with Healthpeak Properties (NYSE: PEAK).

In addition to his real estate related occupations, Elijah is an Officer in the United States Army Reserve. In his free time, Elijah enjoys skiing and writing country music on his guitar. Elijah holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business.

Michael Lin
Partner

Michael Lin is currently both actively and passively invested in 200+ units of multifamily properties across several states. He also has development experience including: constructing a vacation rental villa in Costa Rica from the ground up in an exclusive luxury enclave, overseeing multiple retail gym constructions and managing numerous Class A commercial building exercise facility renovations and build-outs.

Along with real estate, Michael Lin has devoted his time to the fitness industry for the past two decades. An entrepreneur since 2000, Michael Lin has grown his fitness consulting business, Verve Health & Fitness, to be one of the most well respected fitness providers in the metro D.C. area, ranging from private personal training to rehabilitation, from sport-specific training to fitness facility management for Class A Commercial buildings and Five Star Hotels. Michael’s corporate clientele includes, Cushman & Wakefield, JBG, Jones Lang LaSalle, Quadrangles, Bozzuto, Lincoln Property Management, Four Seasons Hotel Georgetown and Mandarin Oriental Hotel to name a few. During which time, Michael and his company have been featured in Shape Magazine, Washingtonian, WebMD, Capitol File, and Washington Life magazine.

Daniel Poindexter
Company Operations

Daniel Poindexter serves as Head of Company Operations, and has over 10 years of sales and operations experience, including most recently two years at EasyKnock, where he personally generated over 50 unique sale/lease-back transactions representing over $20M in equity. Daniel holds a B.M. from Truman State University and is currently pursuing a certification in Data Science.

Jerry Ucci
Head of Field Operations

Jerry Ucci oversees on the ground operations for the MSA Properties LLC’s regional portfolio (Cross Mountain Capital's regional property manager.  Jerry is responsible overseeing building maintenance in the ordinary course as well as  the execution of repositioning and improvement strategies. Jerry manages a crew of 5 others in servicing the regional VT and NH portfolios. 

 

Jerry has over 20 years of contractor experience leading teams on the ground to rehab, reposition and improve multifamily buildings.  Jerry received his BA from Southern Vermont College.

Shelley Molad handles the marketing content and public relations for Cross Mountain Capital. Her experience includes running operations for MSA Properties LLC, encompassing a multifamily portfolio of close to 100 units in the Northeast.

 

In addition to working in real estate, Shelley spent five years managing high profile Film and TV industry events for the SAG-AFTRA Foundation in New York City. Prior to that she was a publicist for Harry N. Abrams Books, the first company in the US to specialize in art and illustrated books, working with top cookbook authors, such as Jacques Torres and Alton Brown. Shelley also worked many years as a content editor and consultant for PerSys Medical, a global provider of innovative medical solutions for the military, hospitals, law enforcement, and first responders.
